For Physical Therapists ·
What you'll accomplish
By the end of this guide, you'll have 20–30 ready-to-post social media updates for your PT clinic — a full month of content for Facebook, Instagram, and/or LinkedIn — generated in one focused session instead of scrambling for content ideas every day.
What you'll need
Before generating content, decide the 4-5 topics you want to post about regularly. For a PT clinic, good pillars are:
Start a new conversation with:
I run an outpatient physical therapy clinic specializing in [your specialty — orthopedic/sports/neurological/general]. My typical patients are [age range and demographics]. I want to create a month of social media content. My tone is [professional but warm / educational / motivational — pick one]. My clinic is located in [city, state] and we [any differentiator — accept most insurance, cash-pay, sports medicine, etc.].
Ask for 5-7 posts per pillar. Example:
Write 6 educational social media posts about common conditions we treat. Mix short explanations of: back pain, rotator cuff injuries, knee pain, and post-surgical recovery. Each post 75-100 words. Professional but approachable tone. End each with a call-to-action like "Questions? Comment below" or "DM us to learn more."
Do this for each of your 5 pillars, one at a time.
Write 4 posts timed for [season]: injury prevention tips for [seasonal sports — fall football/winter skiing/spring running], New Year's return-to-fitness advice, or summer activity tips. Keep each 75-100 words.
Create a Google Sheet with columns:
Paste your best posts in and schedule them out across the month, spacing pillars to create variety.
For each post that benefits from a visual:
Educational post batch:
Write 5 educational posts for PT clinic social media. Explain in plain language: [condition 1], [condition 2], [condition 3]. Each 75-100 words. End with a question or CTA.
Prevention tips batch:
Write 5 injury prevention tips for [target audience — runners, office workers, older adults, weekend athletes]. Each tip should be practical and immediately actionable. 50-75 words each.
Seasonal/sports content:
Write 4 posts for [season] sports and fitness. Topics: [sport/activity] injury prevention, when to see a PT vs. rest at home, and [seasonal theme]. 75-100 words each.
Call-to-action / new patient post:
Write 2 posts that invite new patients to our clinic. Mention [your differentiators — direct access, same-day appointments, sports specialization, etc.]. Professional but friendly. Not salesy. 60-80 words each.
